O.P.’s mission is for each and every North Carolinian is to have an equivalent quantity of rights that cannot be taken away. We want everyone to sense that they are and will always be in a secure state. O.P. wants everyone to have an equal prospect to go to any college, job, or K-12 schools. We want everyone to have home security, and a reliable government. We will not taint our people with ideas and promises that we will not fulfill like past governments. What O.P. says O.P. does. For these are Our People!
Our issues that are going to be presented on our website are:
- Health Care: Health Care is the treatment for ill, injured, and the senior citizen. The economy has made it harder for people to afford health care. Unemployment is the major problem to get health care. The Health Care Reformwill cover both senior citizens and the youth even if they can’t afford it. The progress of the reform is it provided thousands of kids with quality health care and thousands of adults with health care also.
- Drop-out Rate: North Carolina has recorded the number of Dropouts from grade 9-12 from the years of 2007-2008. The number of dropouts recorded were 22,434. The percentage of dropouts have actually decreased from the years of 2006-2007. The percentage of dropout rates from 2007-2008 was recorded at 4.97%. The percentage of dropout rates was 5.24%. Since then our state has done whatever it can to reduce the percentage. North Carolina is currently the twelfth highest state for number of dropouts. These rates presented were worked out by using the Cumulative Promotion Index, which tracks whether a student graduates from ninth, tenth, 11th and 12th grade. Many reasons why students drop out in the first place are because they feel that they no longer need the need to keep going to school, they feel that they don’t need an education to be successful
- Unemployment:
- Gas Prices: Gas Prices has served as a major issue. It has been at its highest point in history. Oil is up to $80 a barrel. Refiners have cut back on gas prices due to slow demand. Gas prices have surged 25% percent. Gas prices are expected to 4-7 dollars a gallon. Gas prices is hurting manufactures like the Ford Company as their cars are the fifth popular.
- Taxes: .
Solutions:
- Drop-Out Rate: O.P.’s way of solving the Drop-out rate is by raising the age that students are allowed to drop-out of high school. We will try to get the age from 16 to 18. This way students are required to at least finish with a high school. Although we cannot force the students to go to college we will encourage them as much as possible.
- Unemployment: To help the young and the elder we will try to pass a law were all companies that started here they must pay a fine to hlep the works they are leaving behind. To help prevent unemplomenet you sholud go to school to help you be more qufilied for that job. Also don’t just get one degree get mutple back grounds so if they can’t get a job in one area the can try in an antother.
- Taxes: We will put more taxes on the rich and lessen them on the poor. We will tax the richest 5% instead of the richest 1%. We will appeal to the groups of the poor and retried. We will put in more tax reductions for the poor and eldery, more than the current reductions in North Carolina
